Thanks Lora-Joy for letting me guest post on your blog today.  We had so much fun figuring out how to put together this kit.

"Stay In The Game" EO Sports Kit
My sister and I developed this kit with inspiration from Rebecca's Athlete's Kit on Camp Wander.  We figured the blends in her kit were a little too potent for teenage boys and we changed it up some with teenagers in mind--specifically my two nephews.  They are involved in soccer, basketball, wrestling, and track.

We used several of her same blends just diluted, we totally copied some, and we added some of our own.
(this post was written with permission from Rebecca) :0)

Here's what we came up with:
Wear and Tear Blend
for muscle pain and repair
10 drops Birch
15 drops Marjoram
15 drops White Fir
15 drops Frankincense
FCO
1/3 oz. roller bottle
(apply 2-3x daily directly on areas of pain)

Muscle Spasms
20 drops Basil
15 drops Lemongrass
15 drops Marjoram
FCO
1/3 oz. roller bottle
(apply to affected area when muscles are cramping or spasming--as needed)
Blister Blend
20 drops lavender
15 drops melaleuca
FCO--fill not quite full
1/3 oz. roller bottle
(apply as needed even to open blister...although using a finger to apply might be less painful)
Focus Blend
10 drops peppermint
10 drops wild orange
5/8 dram bottle
(inhale/smell as needed)

Breathe EZ
10 drops eucalyptus
10 drops peppermint
10 drops lemon
10 drops melaleuca
5/8 dram bottle
(inhale/smell as needed)
 Cuts and Scrapes Spritzer
3 drops lavender
2 drops lemon
2 drops bergamot
1 pinch epsom salt
witch hazel
4 ml spritzer bottle
(apply as needed to game-time minor injuries)
Burn Spritzer
1 drop lavender
1 drop helichrysum
1 drop geranium
100% aloe vera juice
4 ml spritzer bottle
(apply as needed to burns from the turf, court, knee pads, etc.)
Cool Down
4 drops peppermint
3 drops wild orange
witch hazel
4 ml spritzer bottle
(apply at half-time or when feeling over-heated...spray on face, neck, joints, down inside jersey and even on feet)

Every teenager involved in some kind of sport will have use for most of these blends.  Choose the blends that work for you and adapt them to your needs.
Here's to happy, healthy sports-minded teenagers as we gear up for back-to-school.
Thanks for stopping by!

Not only to I have to buy school supplies for myself, but also my three boys (my 2 sons and my hubby). My husband and I are both educators in the public school system and we have an 8th grader and a sophomore. Needless to say, we are buying lots of clothes and school supplies!

I am a pretty organized person, but if I do not stay on top of it my home and school office can get out of control. I recently got a new room at my school so it has been the perfect opportunity for me to really organize all of my speech room stuff. I recently found these cool bins at Walmart and I love them!!!! I will be writing a "How I Organize My Speech Room" post later this week. So check back soon for that :)

Right now I have been "Speeching" all my new TpT purchases. That means printing, laminating, cutting and organizing! I'm really excited about all of the new materials I have for the new school year. You gotta love TpT!

What are you doing this August. Join the Link Up fun!!! Check out these other bloggers who are Linking Up!

My New Journey with Essential Oils

I am coming off a joyful "high" from spending the last several days with my sister, Dawn, and her family. My trip to her house was mainly to learn as much about Essential Oils as I could. We spent hours talking EO's. One night we stayed up until 3 am!

I had tons of questions about the oils and their uses. I told Dawn my needs (headaches, nausea, PMS, fatigue, stress, the boys sporting pains, etc). She had an oil and/or a blend for all of those issues. One of the ones I wanted to focus on was my extreme sensitivity to motion sickness. She came up with a blend called Motion Potion. See her blog for a full post she did on this new blend. It includes my testimony about it.

 http://sonshineinthewildwood.blogspot.com/2013/08/motion-potion.html

We also made lots of other blends including some really cool blends for my boys and their sporting woes. She will be a guest blogger for me sometime next week about these sports blends.

I am totally sold on Essential Oils! I am ready to stop popping pills or using all kinds of lotions for all my ailments. Essential Oils are organic and much more healthy for us.

I recently became an Affiliate for Spark Naturals. Spark is an amazing company who sells 100% organic oils. I am very impressed with the company. What does being an affiliate mean? Well, it doesn't mean I am selling EO's! I am not. I just receive a small $$kickback for purchases made with my affiliate code. Below is my code that you can use when purchasing EO's through Spark Naturals so that I receive credit. You can also receive a 10% discount on products you buy when using "lorajoy" in the code space at checkout. How cool is that?!

Here is the link:

You can just go to the Spark Natural link to the right of this post and you will be taken directly to the website and my code is embedded in any purchase you make.

I would also like to tell you about the Spark Naturals Oil of the Month Club. This is a great program, especially for those new to EO's like me. You get an Essential Oil sent directly to you each month for $15.99 which includes tax and shipping. This is a great deal!!!

Use the Spark Natural link on this blog to check out the Essential Oil of the Month Club(you can not get my 10% discount on the club).

We did have some other fun during this visit together. On Wednesday we took the Kiddos to Nashville and visited a famous record store, Antique Archaeology (The American Picker's store, walked in the touristy part of downtown, had ice cream at a cool soda shoppe and went to an amazing new park on the Riverfront. It was a fun day! Here are a couple of pics!

The cousins: Caleb, Judah, Landon, Avery and Hannah at Nashville Riverfront park.

My sister and I being silly at Antique Archaeology (these were very old microphones that we probably should not have been touching-haha!)

My son Landon (the one in the middle) loves vinyl. He has been wanting to go to this famous record store for awhile now. So here we are; me, Landon and Avery. It was a fun experience!

What a great visit! I am truly blessed with a great relationship with my older sister.
